Ladrönn

José Ladrönn is a comic book artist and painter from Mexico. He was born in Minatitlan in the state of Vera Cruz, and is currently based in Southern California.

He calls the work of Alejandro Jodorowsky, Moebius and H.R. Giger among his influences.

His first work for Marvel in the USA was a story of 'Blade' in 1996, and he had a run on 'Cable' with James Robinson and Joe Casey from 1997 to 1999.

He also penciled 'Spider-Boy Team-Up' #1 for Amalgam Comics (a joint venture between Marvel and DC), and Moebius Comics #5 for Caliber Press.

Ladrönn illustrated the first three issues of Marvel's 'Inhumans' mini-series in cooperation with Carlos Pachero in 2000.

He has also drawn 'Fantasic Four', as well as several covers for DC, Dark Horse and Black Coat Press.

He made the futuristic comic 'Hip Flask' in cooperation with Richard Starkings and Joe Casey for Image Comics.

By 2004, he teamed up with Alejandro Jodorowsky and drew the story 'Tears of Gold'. It was published in Métal Hurlant magazine.

He later also drew the final two installments of 'Final Incal' in 2011 and 2014, and 'The Sons of El Topo' (2016), a follow-up to Jodorowsky's 1970 film 'El Topo'.
